Market Orders
A new order can be placed by left-clicking an NPC:
Order Calibration
When placing an order, all prices are calibrated to match the current best market price. If parts are not available, the minimum price (0.01) or maximum price (10,000.00) is set, depending on the order type.

Placed orders can be accessed anytime by left-clicking your character:
